Job Description

The ​outside sales / field sales representative will grow sales and increase company profits by cultivating current customers and recruiting new customers. The representative will increase profitability by promoting products, providing technical support and conducting training to new and repeat customers within an assigned territory.

Job Duties:

Sales Ability/ Persuasiveness

  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, follow leads from existing clients, networking at trade/training sessions and conferences.
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and to explain how specific products and services can meet these needs
  • Help customers select products based on the customers' needs, product specifications, and regulations
  • Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations
  • Answer customers' questions about prices, availability, and product uses
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sale and service agreements
  • Prepare quotations and submit orders for processing
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies, marketing, and product information
  • Follow up with customers to make sure they are satisfied with their purchases and to answer any questions or concerns

Perform other duties as assigned. Adhere to the rules and regulations as set forth in the Employee Handbook.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Education:
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Experience: 
  • Minimum 2 years in similar position
  • (3 years preferred)
  • Product/applications experience required
  • Wholesale distribution experience required
